The NIH Guidelines establish safety and containment requirements for research involving recombinant or synthetic nucleic acid molecules, and BiomEdit’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) reviews, approves, and monitors applicable projects to support compliance with those requirements.
The IBC meets on a scheduled basis and includes subject matter experts, an animal health expert, and community members.
Approved IBC meeting minutes, beginning with the January 2026 initial IBC meeting, are posted on this site after approval by the IBC.
